Who they are

Bottlenotes is an online wine community – a place for aspiring wine enthusiasts to learn about, share, explore, and buy boutique and estate wines from around the world, hand-picked by Bottlenotes wine experts and tailored to individuals’ personal tastes.

The Challenge

The founders of Bottlenotes saw an opportunity to reach out to “Millennials” to help them develop and nurture their own growing enthusiasm for wine. Research suggests that this group (the generation that has come of age around the millennium) sees the traditional world of wine as stuffy and elitist. Yet, they’re quite sophisticated themselves and aren’t afraid to spend their growing income on affordable luxuries like great wine. The challenge, then, was to create a new wine industry market designed just for the Facebook generation.

The Solution

At the end of the day we knew we needed to create a brand that was all about taking great wine — something that has always been sophisticated — and making it cool and approachable to a whole new audience. With this as our mantra, we rebuilt the brand from the ground up – logo and tagline, packaging, event signage, emails, and, of course, the new website. The site itself is a unique hybrid of social network, e-commerce store, gift registry, wine blog and “wine-cyclopedia.” It’s everything a cool young wine enthusiast needs.
